The business of Morris' Store has also changed with the times and needs of the community. We are no longer able to stock a complete range of products. No Ice Skates are left, neither are Pianos , Ale or Brandy. Fashion clothing has disappeared. No longer do we trade by barter; rather cash and plastic prevail. But this is not a museum. Neither is it an antique shop. We are a working business and while keeping some links with the past strive to provide for the immediate needs of the local community and our visitors.
Technology has come (we were the first country store in Tasmania to install scanning cash registers); a comprehensive computer system handles most of our accounting work. We still issue newsletters/promotion sheets (weekly) although no longer hand addressed. Although our staff numbers are reduced, we are proud of their quality and contribution they make to the community and local economy.
